Waving with the water

The Mediterranean Sea is a sea connected to the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by the Mediterranean Basin and almost completely enclosed by land. The Sea has played a central role in the history of Western civilization. Several ancient civilizations were located around the Mediterranean shores and were greatly influenced by their proximity to the sea. It provided routes for trade, colonization, and war, as well as food (from fishing and the gathering of other seafood) for numerous communities throughout the ages.

Due to the shared climate, geology, and access to the sea, cultures centered on the Mediterranean tended to have some extent of intertwined culture and history.

The culture and architecture differs from west side north Africa Morocco to east side Turkey. However, I still can track similarities from ancient times. In Morocco, I drived from south side desert all the way to the north part of the country, watching the scenery gradually change from golden desert to grassland and then to forest. Aegean Sea is unforgettable blue, transparent and shiny with human histories constructed along the shore. Istanbul, located at an unique position in the world, is watching all history changes on both sides over centires.
